Tehdas Theatre is an award-winning independent professional theatre founded in Turku in 2000 and the main stage for contemporary Finnish puppet theatre. Tehdas serves as an arena for open-minded theatrical innovations and ambitiously supports professional artists and groups who are committed to research and experimentation in their work.
Tehdas Theatre produces several new premieres each year for both adults and children.

Tehdas Theatre is one of Finland's largest independent professional theatres. Our regular activities are supported by, among others, the City of Turku and the Arts and Culture Department. We engage in extensive and close cooperation with other cultural actors in Finland and abroad. Tehdas Teatteri produces larger-scale works such as the award-winning Huoneiden kirja (The Book of Rooms), but our repertoire also includes lighter, high-quality touring performances, some of which are performed in the same venue as the premiere.
