The ‘Love Letters’ participatory art project
LOVE LETTERS
An art project concept highlighting the diversity of our relationship with nature, involving an open call for free-form love letters to nature. SISU will curate the letters, which will be read aloud and recorded. The letters may also be published, for example, on the client’s website.
The project involves designing a unique, site-specific spatial installation or series of works. The scale and execution of the work are open to interpretation. In addition to the content of the letters, the artistic process itself can also be collaborative.
The work invites people to pause and listen, to engage with the stories and other people’s perspectives.
The process is scalable and can be adapted in collaboration with the client. The ‘Love Letters’ concept has been realised in various forms and on different scales, for example, ‘Love Letters to Nature’ on the Espoo Waterfront Trail in 2023 and ‘Love Letters to the Sea’ in Turku in 2024.
No personal data is collected during the letter collection process.
