The Boy and the Raven

The Boy and the Raven explores friendship, loneliness and coping with war from a child’s perspective. The story is set in a ruined city, where the Boy lives on his own without his parents.

The planes flying over the city and the soldiers marching between the blocks of flats bring a sense of excitement to his life. One day, a raven falls from the sky, unable to fly any more.

The boy takes the raven into his home and begins to look after it. Gradually, trust and friendship grow between them, even though they share no common language.

Antti Polameren’s atmospheric, fully orchestrated music, Hannu Räisä’s skilfully crafted puppets and Antti Kemppainen’s heart-warming story will touch audiences of all ages.
