Dance Theatre Raatikko is a professional dance theatre specialising in children's theatre. Raatikko's productions are characterised by the unprejudiced combination of different art forms. Our goal is to offer children artistic experiences that inspire enthusiasm and empathy and open up new perspectives on the world around them. For many children, a visit to Raatikko is their first step into the world of art, and we want to make it a memorable and inspiring experience.

Raatikko has its own theatre space in Vantaa, at the Tikkurila Silk Factory. In addition to performances on its own stage, Raatikko regularly tours around Finland, bringing the magic of theatre to school gyms and daycare centres, for example.

Raatikko puts on around 250 performances each year and attracts 20,000 spectators. Raatikko's activities are supported by the City of Vantaa and the Ministry of Education and Culture. Raatikko also brings art closer to the public through its diverse audience outreach work. Our most typical form of audience outreach is workshops that introduce different art forms, such as dance, circus and performance art. Each year, around 30 performing arts professionals work at Raatikko on visiting contracts.
