Maalamus – a participatory performance
Maalamus is a cross-disciplinary duo whose performances are based on improvisation. In this participatory performance, painter Satu Salomaa and musician Paula Präktig invite the audience to join in the creative process.
During the workshop, participants are free to paint their own artwork using pastels on A3-sized paper, whilst Satu and Paula create a performance combining live music and live painting. The performance serves as inspiration and encourages participants to improvise on their own paper.
Other painting materials, colours and surfaces may also be used freely, provided the organiser can make them available to the audience and take responsibility for protecting the surfaces. We can also discuss these arrangements together; Satu Salomaa will be happy to advise on the matter.

Technical requirements
Electricity and a water supply. If there is a piano on site, we’d be happy to use it. Our own sound system is sufficient for a venue of around 70 people. No special lighting is required; we’ll bring a lamp to illuminate the painting created during the performance. An inclusive performance at Tahmela Villa
