Aurora Visa is a kantele player, musician, composer and teacher born in Espoo, whose artistic work is rooted in Finnish folk music and various kantele traditions. In her music, she combines a swinging rhythm with evocative expression.
Visa is active in a variety of roles as a performer, composer and teacher. She performs actively as a soloist and with the folk music duo Aléan, which she founded in 2014 and in which she plays alongside clarinettist Annika Lyytikäinen. Aurora has released music with Aléan and the Siba Folk Big Band, as well as featuring on various artists’ recordings and performing in adverts. In recent years, she has also performed across Finland and abroad with her own concert programme *Älä herätä mua* and the dramatised concert programme *Unen kuvia*, for which she composed the music in collaboration with the actress and singer Lotta Aako.
As a teacher, Visa teaches people of all ages and abilities in Espoo and Helsinki, and regularly runs courses and workshops on the kantele and Finnish folk music.
Aurora graduated with a Master’s degree in music from the Sibelius Academy at the University of the Arts in 2023.

Aléa has performed actively since 2014, including at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, Lempo, the Doo-Bop club, the Pato club, churches and numerous school tours. The group also performs frequently at private events. Between 2017 and 2024, Aléa performed at around twenty private events through Primo, the Sibelius Academy’s booking agency.
