The Myrskynsilmä Association for the Promotion of Art (Myrskyryhmä) has been working with art, especially dance, for over 20 years. Myrskyryhmä specialises in participatory working methods, community work and cultural work with the elderly. It has written film scripts with elderly people, produced short dance films and photography exhibitions, and launched artistic processes aimed at creative output. In 2025, the dance piece Impro&Plié premiered, and in 2026, the Nordic collaboration TanssiMeri! dance piece will premiere. Production: 12 dance pieces, of which more than
250 performances in care units, 15 artist residencies in elderly care units across Finland, 8 short dance films, and a documentary film about cultural work with the elderly.

Myrskyryhmä's participatory dance film working method has been described and peer-reviewed in the THL's HYTE operating model series. Myrskyryhmä is a dance group founded by Elli Isokoski and Pauliina Laukkanen, two contemporary dance professionals. We bring people-oriented dance art to everyday environments. To people who would otherwise not get to see contemporary dance.
We are particularly interested in performing in healthcare settings. In addition to performances, we organise courses and teaching for various professional groups and other communities.]]In addition to the awards and honourable mentions received by Myrskyryhmä's dance films, the association was awarded the Kanta-Häme Memory-Friendly Act Award in 2022. Founding member Elli Isokoski was selected as Community Dance Artist of the Year in 2021. The association collaborates with several actors in the field of well-being in Finland (e.g. Länsi-Uusimaa Well-being Area, the City of Helsinki, the City of Ylöjärvi & Pirha, the Association of Families of the Fallen, and the Foibe Foundation) and cultural actors (e.g. Yhteisö tanssii ry, Armas Festival, Ilonovi ry and Ivana Helsinki Oy). Myrskyryhmä also engages in international cooperation (UK, Wales, Norway). Kati Kallio and Myrskyryhmä's collaboration, the dance film Käy rinnallain (2021), has been shown on YLE. The film is touring international festivals and has received over 18 awards. The film has been selected for Virgin Atlantic's in-flight entertainment programme in summer 2024 as part of its memory-friendly service offering.

The dance film Kurkien kutsu (2023) was created in collaboration with Muistijengi, a memory association in Kanta-Häme. The film is touring festivals and has received several international awards. The film can be viewed in the IloNovi virtual environment.

Oodi iälle (2024) is a dance film about ageing. The film was scripted by a group of 70-88-year-olds at the Leppävaara Live and Live Centre in 2023. It celebrates the ageing body and serves as an encouraging example for younger generations. The film premiered on 13 December 2024. Directed by Kati Kallio.
