I am Sanna Seiko Salo, an author, biographer and entrepreneur from Tampere. I have written around ten books, the most recent of which are biographies. I am particularly interested in people and their stories – in how lived experiences, events and coincidences are transformed into fascinating narratives.
As a biographer, I help people record their own stories. I visit them, get to know them, observe, interview, listen and write.
I also write stories for businesses and organisations, record oral history, conduct personal interviews and run workshops on writing and storytelling.
Where necessary, I bring in professionals specialising in visual design and production. The end result might be a printed book, an e-book, an audiobook or even an illustrated story for a website – in whatever format best serves the story and its audience.
I hold a Master’s degree in Engineering and have worked for many years in marketing, service design and creative content. I run my own business, Salo Company Oy.
I believe that every person’s story deserves to be heard. I want to record these stories before they are lost and give them the chance to touch future generations as well.

The books I have written include *Sommelier* (Docendo, 2026), Air Traffic Controller (Otava, 2026), Fear of Needles (WSOY, 2025), Strategist – The Career and Life of Kari Neilimo (Johnny Kniga, 2024) and That’s the Way It Is – The Story of Pekka Herlevi (Into Kustannus, 2023). *Strategist* was selected as one of Kauppalehti Option’s best business books of 2024. I have also collaborated with Karisto and Storytel.
In addition, I have written private biographies for the enjoyment and remembrance of families and loved ones.
I have written around 20 company stories about member companies of Pirkanmaan Yrittäjät, as well as planning and producing more extensive company stories and histories from start to finish. I have interviewed employees, management and stakeholders, delved into archives, searched for old photographs and pieced together narratives in which the company’s history comes to life through people’s stories.
