Glims & Gloms

The dance theatre GLIMS & GLOMSIN was founded in 1999 by choreographers Simo Heiskanen and Tuomo Railo. The theatre is based in Espoo, whose two rivers, Glims and Gloms, are referred to in the theatre's name. The theatre tours nationally and also makes international visits.

GLIMS & GLOMSIN's artistic aim is to produce performances in which comedy touches the heart, humour surprises and dance uplifts. The theatre's performances are aimed at a wide audience – children, young people and adults.

2009 State Prize for Dance Art 2002 Dance Achievement of the Year Award 2001 Espoo City Culture Achievement Award GLIMS & GLOMS produces 1–3 premieres annually. The theatre's programme consists of touring performances, commissioned works and long-running hits from its repertoire. The works in the theatre's programme are suitable for performance not only in traditional theatre venues but also in school gyms, libraries, daycare centres and service homes, for example.

Glims & Gloms' main partner is the City of Espoo. Glims & Gloms' current programme includes performances for the whole family, such as Tii-Tii-Tiitiäinen, Raxu Taskunen and Kissani yhdeksän elämää (My Cat's Nine Lives). There are also two performances aimed at older people in the programme: Pennitön uneksija (The Pennyless Dreamer) and Minä unohdin miten suuressa talossa asun (I Forgot How Big My House Is).
