The Play About the Book
Can a book jump? Can it sleep, play and get up to mischief? In the wordless play *The Play About the Book*, the book is more than just a book – it’s the little big sister’s friend.
Children’s theatre for 2–5-year-olds! A theatrical experience that instils a love of books even in the youngest children, allowing them to discover the book with all their senses, through body, movement and music.
A performance based on *The Book About the Book* and *My Book!* by Anna Ribbing and Amanda Eriksson (Rabén & Sjögren).
The performance is also ideal for groups of children at libraries, nurseries and family cafés. Educational resources are available to build on the experience!
The performance creates a positive experience of books and is specially adapted for the very youngest, featuring, amongst other things, a gentle narrative flow and a clear structure. As it is wordless and told through body language, movement and music, all children can engage with it regardless of language or language proficiency.
It explores emotions and situations that children recognise from their own everyday lives, making it ideal for practising how to express feelings and listen to one another afterwards. At the same time, it stimulates the imagination and the children’s ability to interpret images, movement and theatrical expression.
