Presentation and workshop on recycled instruments
Presentation and workshop on recycled instruments
Musicians Tero Porali & Matias Partanen have built their own instruments and used them to accompany numerous performances and various art installations since 2020. The instruments have been constructed from materials such as an old sauna stove, a sledge, bottle caps, metal containers and glass bottles. The project began whilst Lahti was serving as the European Green Capital and as the Cultural Ambassador for SUPER Theatre’s anniversary year.
The programme highlights the circular economy, creativity and the inventive reuse of materials.
In this series of recycled instrument demonstrations and workshops, musicians will showcase instruments they have made themselves and also provide guidance on how absolutely anyone can build their own instruments from recycled materials.
Participants will have the chance to experiment, marvel and make music.
The programme can be run non-stop for 2 hours at a time.
