The Strange Café is a comedic circus theatre performance that combines theatre, science tricks, magic, acrobatics and humour. The performance is set to music throughout and is entirely wordless, delighting both children and older people alike. It is suitable for everything from a small hall in a nursery to a larger stage.

In the story, the cheerful café owner’s day seems to go completely awry when all the drinks served to the lady who has arrived start behaving strangely. Drinks that magically change colour, coffee that mysteriously vanishes, a room filled with soap bubbles and fast-paced acrobatic duets create a hilarious and surprising atmosphere.

The performance shows how something new and interesting can emerge from situations that seem unexpected or even like blunders. It highlights the power of imagination, play and bold experimentation. As a wordless story, it is conveyed through facial expressions, gestures and music, making the performance understandable and accessible to absolutely everyone, regardless of language. The experience is visual and immersive – the sort that stays with you for a long time.
