fRAGilE – performance in urban spaces

Kuvassa esiintyjä makaa nurmikolla ja pitää sylissään sotilaallista reppua, joka on kokonaan punaisten kenkien peitossa. Kuva on mustavalkoinen, ja vain kengät ovat punaisia. In the image, the performer is lying on the grass, embracing a military-style backpack that is completely covered with red shoes. The image is in black and white, with only the shoes appearing in red.
The fRAGilE performance is a minimalist movement installation created in solidarity with those affected by war: the victims, the displaced, the grieving, and the unheard.

The title intertwines fragile and rage, revealing the paradox of human life: delicate and breakable, yet capable of unleashing merciless violence, causing indescribable destruction. This piece stands as a protest against war, rejecting terror, violence, and the normalization of brutality, while confronting humanity’s repeated failure to learn from history.

fRAGilE explores the somatic impact of war—the deep, embodied effects of both internal and external quakes, leaving lasting imprints on both landscape and soul. Its repetitive, looping structure moves through urban spaces, symbolizing vulnerability, the hopelessness of escape, and the inescapable cycle of trauma.

It is an artistic statement, an act of artivism, and a form of protest art. Its goal is to evoke empathy and solidarity through movement, atmosphere, and visual language, reminding us that violence and destruction are neither distant nor exceptional, but part of our shared world. Its community-engaging element invites participation, deepening the experience and message.

It creates a space for reflection, for feeling, and for recognizing that suffering is never as far removed as we may wish it to be.
