Performance by the Aléa folk music duo
Performance by the Aléa folk music duo, 30–60 mins.
Aléa is a Finnish folk music duo formed by Aurora Visa and Annika Lyytikäinen, whose playing makes the kantele and clarinet swing in a way you’ve never heard before. The duo’s music has deep roots in the Nordic folk music tradition, getting today’s audiences up and dancing. Since its formation in 2014, Aléa has performed actively both on the Finnish folk music scene and for audiences less familiar with folk music, in Finland and abroad. The duo performs both original compositions and traditional repertoire with a modern twist. The duo consists of Aurora Visa (kantele) and Annika Lyytikäinen (clarinet), both of whom hold Master’s degrees in Music from the Folk Music programme at the Sibelius Academy.
