Like There’s No Tomorrow – Dance performance

Kolme tanssijaa hyppäämässä ilmaan.
Like There’s No Tomorrow is a visual feast inspired by Philippe Halsman’s photographic work Dali Atomicus (1948).

The work consists of overlapping scenes that culminate, time and again, in a unique final image. In the spirit of surrealism, movement, music and the visual world overflow with highly idiosyncratic, imaginative and freely malleable elements that click into place, creating cathartic moments.

As the work progresses, the performers, objects and props organise themselves and constantly change shape, creating surrealist sculptures and landscapes. This dense work accelerates repeatedly towards its conclusion, offering dreamlike vistas in which the concept of time dissolves and tomorrow is forgotten.

Created in close collaboration with the design team, Like There’s No Tomorrow seamlessly weaves together sound art, visual richness and Kinetic Orchestra’s signature movement—a blend of partner acrobatics, contemporary dance and martial arts techniques. Lighting designer Veli-Ville Sivén’s gravity-defying scenography and costume designer Maria Sirén’s costumes, inspired by painting, bring a strong visual impact to the stage. The fully composed soundscape is the work of musician Janne Hast together with guitarist Petri Kautto.

The piece features four dancers.
