A poem brought to life – a performance

“An incredible journey! At times I was on the verge of tears, at times I was laughing!” – audience comment, Liikelaituri, Tue 24 Apr 2026

“What a truly intergalactic journey through the evolution of language!” – audience comment, Pethaus, Tue 25 April 2026

“Stunning. I cannot describe the depth of the interactions. It feels as though I were floating
along the timeline of the multiverse, sipping a cosmic latte.”
– audience comment, Haihara Manor, Tue 3 May 2026

A poem brought to life, sprouting from the languages of the sitar and Finnish; movement and sound in counter-rotation, ttta-vvvutttta-va; a contemporary dance piece that solidifies from wood into flesh and incarnates as a cosmic memory.

It is a circulatory state that marvels at its astro-shamanic existence in the simultaneous moment of birth and death of movement,
sound and words.

The inner organs of this poetic organism are texts written by Tuomi, exploring the connection between earth and space.
The work’s soundscape is created acoustically using a sitar, wooden sticks, the human voice, bells and
singing bowls, as well as electronically via a looper.
A trio of three luminous artists, greater than the sum of their parts, moves through the asteroid belts of dance and performance art, music and
poetry. Thanks to its installation-like nature, the work settles
organically into diverse spaces.

The work features the working group’s conveners: dance artist and poet Maija Tuomi, musician and composer Antero Mentu, and actor and performance artist Marja Skaffari.
