Zaida Ponthin

Zaida Ponthin is an Åland violinist who works as a chamber and orchestra musician. She is engaged in many different contexts and has played with, among others, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Västerås Sinfonietta, Folkoperan in Stockholm and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. As a project manager and producer, she likes to choose music that carries a story, as in the concert programme "Listen to Her", which highlights female composers and their stories.
Zaida is a co-founder of the Åland Symphony Orchestra Association and the Åland Chamber Ensemble, where she works to create encounters between musicians and audiences and to strengthen cooperation between Nordic islands and regions.
