Founded in autumn 2013, this 18-piece ensemble is one of Finland’s most fascinating jazz orchestras. In addition to its distinctive instrumentation, what makes Sointi unique is its concert programmes, which are tailor-made specifically for the ensemble. As well as its own core repertoire, the Sointi Jazz Orchestra performs rarely heard new music, mostly composed in the 2000s. The orchestra premieres several programmes each year and performs alongside interesting guest soloists.
