I am Satu Ristola, a composer and lyricist of children's music and runo songs, as well as a musician (keyboards, vocals, flute, alto saxophone) from Riihimäki, a versatile and adaptable creative professional. Areas of expertise: language arts educator, artisan in the field of handicrafts and applied arts, puppet theatre educator, musician/multi-instrumentalist, cultural producer (AMK).
I perform in the performing arts as a side job alongside my main job in my free time. The common thread in my touring storytelling concerts for children is the children's songs I have composed and written the lyrics for. In the fairy tale concerts, I combine visual elements, puppet theatre and storytelling. The runo songs I have composed for a more mature audience deal with the flow of life and its different layers in an empowering way. These atmospheric and empowering concerts are particularly suitable for performance in libraries and meeting places. Over 20 years of work experience in the creative field as an entrepreneur and employee in the culturaland art, as a performing artist, producer and art educator, has shaped me into a bold, holistically thinking expert who masters various forms of artistic expression and the art of collaboration.
Billing for ordered services is handled by the Smartisti cooperative, so the customer does not have to worry about YEL payments, etc. As a member of the cooperative, I am covered by TyEL insurance.

Since 2006, I have gained work experience as an entrepreneur in the arts at Satumatka Productions as a performing artist, cultural producer and art educator, which has shaped me into a bold, holistically thinking expert who masters various forms of artistic expression and the art of collaboration. In addition, I have training as a language arts educator, a vocational qualification in puppetry/theatre, a vocational qualification in handicrafts and applied arts, a university of applied sciences degree in cultural production, a vocational qualification in nature guidance, and instrument studies from a music school (piano, flute, alto saxophone). I am originally from Kymenlaakso and have been extensively involved in children's cultural work in the Kymenlaakso region (e.g. in collaboration with all municipalities in Kymenlaakso). I founded a puppet theatre in 2006, which led to the first performing arts performances, and since then I have been touring with puppet theatre performances, baby theatre performances and children's concerts at children's events throughout Southern Finland. I then moved to Kanta-Häme, where I have lived for just over a year. In recent years, I have worked as a joint children's culture coordinator for seven municipalities in Kymenlaakso and released a new children's music album in 2023. I currently work full-time as a cultural producer, but I am available for occasional gigs in my spare time.
