Q-teatteri ry

Helsinki, Uusimaa

The core tasks of Q-Community Theatre, which operates under the auspices of Q-Theatre, are both art education and supporting the well-being of individuals and communities through applied theatre. Our activities enable different perspectives to become visible and increase mutual understanding among participants. We work in cooperation with actors in the third sector, the public sector and the private sector.

The actors of the community theatre are proficient in applied and participatory methods of performing arts, especially the playback theatre method. Playback theatre is an applied and participatory form of improvisational theatre based on the thoughts, feelings and stories shared by the audience. The method was developed by Jonathan Fox and Jo Salas in New York in the 1970s. Today, there are playback theatre groups working in over 70 countries around the world. In addition to playback theatre, we organise tailor-made art-based workshops.

We always bring our activities to the client's own premises.
