My name is Martin Karlsson and I am a multidisciplinary artist with a master's degree in Entrepreneurship in the Arts with a focus on photography, as well as a bachelor's degree in Film & TV Production. I have also studied creative writing and music. Since completing my first degree in 2004, I have worked in a variety of art forms, including film, photography, poetry and music. I am currently a member of the jury for the Swedish YLE Literature Prize, while also preparing a solo exhibition and working on a photo and poetry book.

I work at the intersection of the poetic and the natural world, exploring how we humans connect with our surroundings. My work examines memory, language and landscape through materials and processes with an emphasis on change, transience and transformation. Through writing, photography, music and filmmaking, I strive to reveal the traces we leave behind as humans and individuals.

I perform music (piano/vocals), hold exhibitions, give artist talks and also produce video content. My work is suitable for theatres, dance companies, music producers, event producers, galleries, museums and film production companies.

My specialised skills include portrait photography on film and digitally, artistic interpretation and visual representation of artworks and performing arts, video editing, music composition, and digital solutions for social media marketing.
