LuovaNoste
Mikkeli, South Savo
LuovaNoste runs workshops that utilise creative methods for a variety of purposes. In these creative workshops, participants are introduced to various creative methods such as drawing, painting, playing with words, making collages, vocal singing, music and photography. Creative activities stimulate creativity and enhance innovative capacity. Working together builds trust and psychological safety. Creative work is restorative in itself and offers a moment of pause and focus whilst engaged in the creative process.
We also organise coaching workshops where theoretical training is enhanced through creative methods. Themes may include recovery skills, improving concentration, teamwork and interaction training, as well as other wellbeing coaching sessions.
Art and art-based activities have a significant link to perceived health, quality of life and happiness. Creative methods promote mental wellbeing and recovery.
Art-based methods provide strength for everyday life and work, bring joy and inspire. Art stimulates brain activity, reduces anxiety and prevents depression. Creative methods promote social interaction and a sense of community within the workplace.
LuovaNost’s coaches have extensive experience in utilising art-based creative methods. They have studied creative methods in, for example, art therapy guidance, creativity and art in work supervision, and training courses for montage and self-image guidance and photography therapy.

We have carried out a project funded by AVEK’s Crema programme, in which we developed art-based coaching to address the theme of occupational safety. An article on this has been published in the TTT magazine https://tttlehti.fi/share/18258/661be5
During the pandemic, LuovaNostes’ team also ran an ERDF-funded pilot project, ‘Well-being at Work through Creativity’, which tested the suitability of creative methods for remote coaching processes of varying lengths. An article about the project has been published in Taikusydän https://taikusydan.turkuamk.fi/yleinen/tyohyvinvointia-luovuudella-hanke-pureutui-tyossa-olevien-kuormitukseen/
Based on this pilot project, XAMK implemented ‘Remote and Live – creative methods for promoting well-being at work, in which LuovaNost’s coaches ran creative workshops for both line managers and other staff https://www.xamk.fi/hanke/etana-ja-livena-luovat-menetelmat-tyohyvinvointia-edistamassa/
In addition to this, we have delivered numerous training sessions and workshops in both the private and public sectors. We have received a great deal of positive feedback on both our creative methods and our approach to training and our enthusiasm. According to the feedback, creative activities energise, increase presence, are restorative and help with concentration. Creative activities also evoke positive emotions and deepen the understanding of the theme being addressed.
We also utilise creative, art-based methods in work supervision (individual and group) and art therapy guidance.
