Koppikset are a five-piece children’s music group with a lively attitude. The group was formed in 1988. Their repertoire consists of songs and sing-alongs written by Raimo Hentunen and Ilpo Ikäheimo. Their musical style ranges from samba to tango, and from country humppa to straight-up rock. Koppikset also perform as a duo, a trio and a quartet. The band has its own high-quality sound equipment and, if required, lighting equipment as well. Invoicing for gigs is handled by Willi Lakeus-teatteriosaajien osk.

In the 1990s, the band took part in the Salo children’s singing competitions, winning, amongst other things, the 1993 the ‘Unique Performance’ recognition award.
The band has performed for nearly 20 years at the Independence Day celebrations for Year 4 pupils in Kalajoki, and for just over 20 years at the Kalajoki Children’s Venice Festival. The band’s songwriters have, both collectively and individually, composed and written the lyrics for theatre music for plays aimed at both children and adults. Raimo Hentunen has also written, directed and produced plays for children and adults.
