Johanna Hasu
Kouvola, Kymenlaakso
I am a classically trained pianist, piano teacher, Doctor of Philosophy and versatile writer.
I also perform as a singer, in which case the musical style is lighter: songs and theatre music. In my concerts, I like to combine literature and music. I have also composed songs to accompany my poetry and performed combinations of poetry and music either alone or with small ensembles. I am an experienced singer – I have led group singing in various care homes and at events organised by associations and parishes. I believe in the power of singing together and know from experience how music can reach places where speech has already failed. In my doctoral thesis, I studied learning difficulties in piano playing. This, together with thirty years of experience as a teacher, forms the basis of my work. Everyone has the right to music, either as a listener or a creator. I want to touch people with my art and give them new ideas – gently and with respect.
I am also happy to tailor performances to the client's needs, interacting with them and listening to their requirements.
