A art critique includes observation, evaluation, analysis, interpretation and contextualisation of the content and execution of the subject being reviewed. The arts critique focuses specifically on the artworks, not the artists.
Hire an art critic and give them time to familiarise themselves with the exhibition and the artworks. You can express your wishes regarding the target audience of the art review, i.e. whether the text is intended for children or art professionals. After 10 days, you will receive an unbiased but respectful text of the agreed length.
Although the art critic is responsible for their own art review, as the client, you will have the opportunity to comment on the text before it is finalised.
Art critic Tuuli Penttinen-Lampisuo has over ten years of experience and has written 300 reviews of visual arts and art exhibitions. She is a member of the Finnish Critics' Association SARV. Her special expertise covers contemporary art, media arts, graphic arts and interdisciplinary works.
The service is aimed at artists, art commissioners, art collections, exhibition organisations, the media and publishers.
The length of the visual arts review is 2,000–4,000 characters. The price is 0.40 euros per character.
The price includes one round of comments and a finished visual arts review with perpetual publication rights in the client's own printed materials and on their own websites. The client may also publish short excerpts from the visual arts review on social media. The client may only modify or edit the art review with the author's permission. The author's name must be mentioned in accordance with good practice in connection with publications. As an additional service, photographic documentation suitable for the text can also be ordered, which will be carried out in connection with the review visit.
At our discretion, art critiques from other fields of art, such as art books, art films or art events, can also be ordered.
