Vaskiseitsikko Novus

Helsinki, Uusimaa

Vaskiseitsikko Novus was founded in spring 2017 out of an interest in Finnish brass music and its history. Since then, Vaskiseitsikko Novus has performed concerts throughout Finland. Our musicians are leading Finnish brass players. Our members are regular performers in the Helsinki, Vaasa and Lappeenranta city orchestras, among others. We generally offer two different programmes or a combination of them: Classical brass septet concert

We can play a classical concert lasting about an hour. Music has been composed for brass septets by significant national composers such as Sibelius, Madetoja and Kuula. These original works for brass septet are rarely heard, so we offer a concert consisting solely of them. This type of concert is a genuine piece of Finnish cultural history. Entertainment concert (can also include a singer and drum set)

We can play Finnish evergreen tangos, humppas and pop songs. The brass septet is also well suited to entertainment programmes. Satumaat, Hopeiset kuut, etc., which are very rarely played on brass instruments, have worked well during our gigs around Finland over the years. This concert is suitable for both listening and dancing. If necessary, this ensemble can be reinforced with a singer and a drum set. It should be noted that the brass septet is an easy ensemble to amplify. We can play without amplification even in large indoor venues or outdoors.
