Therese Karlsson is an Åland lyric soprano with a broad stage repertoire ranging from newly written opera to musicals and musical theatre. She trained at the Royal College of Music and Operastudio 67 in Stockholm.
As someone with a strong stage presence, she wants to convey empathy and authenticity in her performances, and her variety of roles reflects this natural ability to combine both drama and musicality. In addition to her stage engagements, Therese is active as a soloist in church music, concerts and other events. She enjoys participating in and running projects with newly written music.
Therese also has a music career outside of classical singing and has released albums and singles, several of which have been successful and reached number one on the charts. As a producer and project manager, she has many years of experience in the form of the large number of concerts, tours and cultural projects she has run. Therese has also received several scholarships and awards for her artistic work.

She is a well-known voice in Åland's cultural and musical life, as well as the initiator and founding chair of the Network Group for Professional Artists and Art Practitioners in Åland. In 2022-23, she was the first representative of art and culture on the Åland Development and Sustainability Council.

With her broad stage experience and artistic curiosity, Therese Karlsson continues to be a driving and versatile force in the arts and culture scene. There, she continues to tell stories through music and create new collaborations and productions.
