I am a Finnish multi-instrumentalist, composer and performing artist. I perform at concerts, dance events and other events throughout Finland, playing the accordion, saxophone, piano and clarinet. I am best known for my moving concerts, dance music and long career in Finnish dance music. My performances combine music, stories and genuine interaction with the audience.
In autumn 2026, my solo performance Pelimannin Perintö (The Legacy of the Fiddler) will be completed. It is a warm-hearted revue that combines accordion music, storytelling and the roots of Finnish cultural tradition into a coherent whole.
The title song of the performance, Pelimannin perintö, comes from Timo Koivusalo's film Kaksipäisen kotkan varjossa (In the Shadow of the Two-Headed Eagle), and I am delighted and honoured to be able to use it as part of the anniversary celebrations.
The performance includes: – logger romance, rillumareita (traditional Finnish folk songs) and classics from the days of folk musicians, when couplets and patriotism were at their peak – stories from the lives of Finnish people – poetic, touching and humorous moments
The performance is intimate and technically simple, and is well suited to village halls, community centres, clubhouses and small to medium-sized cultural venues.
