Peter Hägerstrand has released albums on both major international labels such as EMI and Milan Records and smaller labels such as Pilfink Records. The albums have been released as a solo artist and as a member of orchestras. Examples include Gycklarnas Afton and Good Evening Manchester. A major highlight was sharing the stage with Nirvana at Ruisrock in 1994. Hägerstrand has experience in all genres of film and television. He has worked with directors such as Ulrika Bengts and Klaus Härö and with production companies such as Jörn Donner Productions and Långfilm Productions. In 2014, the film Lärjungen was Finland's Oscar entry. In theatre, Hägerstrand has composed music for several of the Nordic national stages as well as for independent groups. He has also worked as a bandleader.
