Nuorisoseura Rajan Nuoret ry is a Lappeenranta-based association founded in 1941, offering high-quality folk dance activities for enthusiasts of all ages, from toddlers to pensioners. We have around 150 members, the majority of whom are children and young people.
In addition to dance groups, we offer ‘Tempoa Tenaviin’ music and movement sessions, where children under the age of 3 can discover the joy of dancing together with an adult.
If you enjoy group exercise classes or would like to dance without a partner, we recommend trying FolkJam, a dance class drawing on Finnish dance traditions.

The Rajan Nuoret Youth Club organises its own spring concert every year. The club’s groups perform at various local and national events.
‘Timanttinen tanhumatka – Kimurantin ja Kirjavien juhlakonsertti’, produced by the folk dance groups of the Rajan Nuoret Youth Club, has been selected as the Dance Production of the Year 2025. The award is granted by the Finnish Youth Clubs to an individual, organisation or event that has made a significant contribution to raising the profile of folk dance during the year and/or promoted the spread of folk dance through its activities.
Two of our group’s teams have been selected as Folk Dance Groups of the Year by Pispalan Sottisi: the Kirjavat Folk Dance Group in 2014 and the Kimurantti Folk Dance Group in 2020. This recognition is one of the most prestigious awards a Finnish folk dance group can receive.
