Hellstén's songs combine in a unique way with world-class dark-toned and historically knowledgeable electronic production, which Hellstén has created together with Tomi Hyyppä. Hyyppä is remembered from the internationally acclaimed electropop duo Villa Nah. Hellstén's critically acclaimed debut album Hiipivä, pimeä hiljaisuus (Creeping, Dark Silence) was released in spring 2024. The album's tracks have been featured on Spotify Editorial playlists and played on Radio Helsinki and Yle Radio Finland, among others. The latest single, Elimäki, was released in September 2025 in collaboration with Helsinki-based Kuohu Records. In addition to his solo project, Hellstén has been involved in a wide range of music for over fifteen years and has been a member of many different bands and projects.
In addition to his solo project, Hellstén has been involved in a wide range of music for over fifteen years and has been active in many different bands and projects. Hellstén was a musician and arranger in Samuli Putro's backing band in 2018-2020 & 2024. The concert series "Pienet rukoukset" (Small Prayers) at the Ateneum in early spring 2019 received much praise and was nominated for "Live Emma" at the Emma Gala 2020. Hellstén also appears on Putro's 2021 album "Keskellä kesää" (In the Middle of Summer) as a backing vocalist and harmonica player. In August 2024, Hellstén performed at the Putro Festival's villa tent concerts. Hellstén has also collaborated in theatre and circus fields and in improvisation. Hellstén was a member of the band Aoide, which released its debut album I through the record label Helmi Levyjen in 2020. Aoide won the national Konsta Jylhä competition in 2018.
