Linda Hedlund obtained a Master of Music degree in 2002 from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and a Doctor of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy in 2010. Since 2019, she has also specialised in Baroque violin performance. Hedlund has performed at numerous festivals, including Musica Nova, the Grafenegg Festival in Austria, the Helsinki Festival, Teatro Bibiena in Mantua, Nancyphonies in France, as well as the Konzerthaus in Vienna and Carnegie Hall in New York. She has also appeared as a soloist with, amongst others, the Lojo City Orchestra, the OSUEL Londrina Symphony Orchestra (Brazil), the Vogtland Philharmonie (Germany), the Milli Insurance Orchestra (Istanbul), Les Solistes de Monte Carlo and the Austrian Chamber Orchestra.
Alongside her concert activities, Linda has taught masterclasses in Italy (Cervo Master Classes), the USA, Asia and South America. In 2011–2012, she was a visiting lecturer at the University of Hawaii. In 2006, she founded the Emsalö Music Festival in Finland and serves as the festival’s artistic director.
Hedlund has made recordings with, among others, pianist Oliver Kern and guitarist Otto Tolonen. Her latest critically acclaimed album was released in 2026 on the Naxos label and features works by Finnish composers for violin and orchestra. Her previous album for the same label was released in 2021 to great acclaim.
