Ilkka Paloniemi is originally from Kemi and currently works in Espoo in the field of light art. He holds a Master's degree in theatre arts (TeM) from the lighting and sound design programme. The starting points for his work are often related to artificial light created by humans and the associated frame of reference. Currently, he uses tools such as neon, lasers and completely artificial light manipulated in a digital environment. He has participated in several group exhibitions and festivals both at home and abroad, and his works are included in private collections. In addition to working as an artist, he also works as a designer and curator in the fields of light art, installations and performing arts. He also works as a consultant on renovation and new construction projects for theatre buildings and performing arts venues.
