Since 2023, I have been creating wooden sculptures from whole pieces of fresh wood, mainly using hand tools such as axes, saws and carving knives. Inspired by historical bladed weapons from all corners of the world, computer games, media and much more, the sculptures are a unique blend of influences and forms. The basic form usually includes the familiar parts of a sword, such as the blade, guard and hilt, but sometimes the boundaries are blurred and you are invited to question what can really be considered a sword. In addition, most of the works are linked by a common thread – a cryptic story of symbols and codes with which the sculptures are decorated. I believe that my art can be appreciated by people with an interest in everything from woodworking, computer games, codes, history and bladed weapons. Furthermore, I am convinced of the advantages of physical, material art as a counterpoint to the digital in an age where more and more seems to be becoming less and less tangible.]]Some previous solo exhibitions: QBEN – Åland Art Museum 2023, Galleri Ehns 2024, Galleri Norden 2025. Group exhibitions: GE RUM / TA PLATS, Luckan – Helsinki 2024. Ordinary member of the Åland Art Council 2026-. Part of the Åland cultural package compiled by the Nordic Institute in Åland, which consists of at least 13 Åland cultural practitioners, with the selection based on "artistic achievement and the breadth of artistic talent".
