Duo Color Express
Southwest Finland, Turku
Duo Color Express (DCE), formed by Teemu Skön and Lassi Tauriainen, has been creating acrobatics-focused performances for various events in Finland since 2012. DCE's energetic performances feature colourful costumes, acrobatic movement combinations, inventive juggling techniques and a humorous and somewhat chaotic movement language. The group has a repertoire ranging from children's circus to adult Christmas parties, as well as a fire show and a shock circus performance utilising sideshow elements. Duo Color Express has its own unique style of creating performances for children.
Our operating principle is to create art that does not underestimate children as an audience, and in this way the group's artists challenge themselves in their work and creations. In concrete terms, this principle means creating performances that are literally designed for the whole family, with no room for circus technical sloppiness. The circus tricks are on a par with any high-quality adult performance, but are woven into a playful and educational story. In addition to the circus, we spice up
our productions with live music, puppet theatre and captivating character work.

DCE has been involved in countless collaborative productions and has created four of its own works: Vortex (2020), Kukko Kiekuu (2021), TT-1000 (2021), TEHDAS (2024) All performances have been toured extensively, for example at events in the Varsinais-Suomi region, in schools and daycare centres in the area, and at events organised by the City of Turku.
Our working group's producer and partner is the multi-arts association TipTop Walkers, which operates extensively throughout Finland, specialising in regional art projects at various events.
We have also collaborated with the City of Turku and the Fär Children's Cultural Centre.
Strange things happen on this magical farm. Why do the eggs bounce and the barn move? Where does the glowing magic egg come from? Balls fly and pigs do somersaults, but why is the barn smoking?
Kukko Kiekuu, a puppet show with live music aimed at younger children, lasts about 30 minutes and combines various animal characters, a colourful soundscape and acrobatics with exercise balls. This is our most performed work and has been staged in various theatres around Finland for four years. The work has been performed on three daycare tours. There is a version of the performance for daycare centres and similar venues, as well as a version for theatres with lighting plans.
The performance does not require a large hall, but can be staged in smaller spaces with lower ceilings. Trailer for the performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35iSGdPqte4
