Anneli Holmstrom

Anneli Holmström

Southwest Finland, Turku

Beginning from an expanded painting approach Anneli Anneli Holmström is a Scottish/Finnish artist and arts educator currently based in Turku Finland.

Holmströms work combines painting methods with sculptural, per formative and collaborative aspects. A re-turning interest is storytelling methods in visual art and how storytelling can be used to frame experience. Unlike narratives aimed at direct readings, the work embraces ambiguity and intuition - using visual storytelling as a tool to articulate pre-verbal thoughts and knowledge. Through this process of visualizing the tacit art making is viewed as a way to re- assess psychological narrative conventions – that while individual may also be – collectivized and shared.
