Paula Kovanen is a professional in the field of applied arts who specialises in working with vulnerable groups through the medium of art. Kovanen is a qualified theatre director and cultural producer, and various drama-based methods feature in every session she leads.

Kovanen produces commissioned performances and workshops. She has worked with, amongst others, older people, older people with learning disabilities, children and young people with learning disabilities, people recovering from mental health issues, young people in need of support, and families with babies. Both performances and workshops can be tailored to the client’s wishes and needs. Kovanen believes that art, and the act of creating and experiencing it together, can serve as gateways to processing and expressing emotions and thoughts. Above all, the most important thing is that everyone has the right to experience and create art.
