Wasa Sinfonietta

Wasa Sinfonietta is a symphony orchestra based in Vaasa, whose members comprise around 60 music enthusiasts. Its members include students, working-age adults and pensioners. We rehearse once a week in the magnificent banquet hall at Vaasa Town Hall and give concerts in the spring and autumn. The orchestra operates under the auspices of the Vaasa Orchestra Association. The orchestra received the 2024 Vaasa Cultural Achievement of the Year award at the start of last year following a public vote organised by the City of Vaasa.

The orchestra collaborates extensively with a wide range of partners and across genre boundaries. Our most recent collaborative concerts have included the children’s choral musical *Pikkuankka Vaakkunokka* (2026), performed at the Vaasa City Theatre together with the Kuula Academy’s Estradi Choir; the *Missa Concordiae* mass in collaboration with the gospel choir Sing the Joy at Vaasa Church (2025); the Human Design band’s ‘Epic Emotions G10’ gig at the Ritz in Vaasa (2025); and the ‘Licence to Play II’ concerts in collaboration with the Kurikka Band at Monnari in Kurikka and the Ritz in Vaasa (2024)
