Teatteri Totti is a professional sign language theatre company that produces theatre, performance art and community art for audiences of all ages. We offer commissioned performances, workshops, audience engagement and specialist arts services, such as artistic consultancy in sign language and translations into Finnish Sign Language. Our areas of specialisation include Finnish Sign Language, Deaf culture, sign language theatre and accessibility; Teatteri Totilla has extensive experience of multidisciplinary projects as well as domestic and international collaboration. We collaborate extensively with both sign-language and hearing artists and other practitioners. The theatre director’s philosophy is summed up in the phrase: “Art and creativity know no boundaries – they are created together.”

Teatteri Totti has extensive experience of sign language and multidisciplinary productions, as well as domestic and international collaboration. Key productions include the documentary plays FRANS and LIISA – The Uprising Begins, the children’s play Papu, Pepe, Pupe and Simo, and Isän puku. FRANS was produced in collaboration with the Swedish Riksteatern Crean, and the production toured Finland, Sweden and France. Totti has collaborated with, amongst others, the Finnish National Theatre, the Ateneum Art Museum, Espoo Theatre, the Finnish Association of the Deaf, and Nordic theatre and cultural organisations. Suitable partners include theatres, museums, festivals, local authorities, educational institutions, associations and other organisations in the arts and culture sector.
