Tuunaajamutsi

Espoo, Uusimaa

Tuunaajamutsi organises sustainable development craft activities that combine the circular economy, a sense of community and mental wellbeing. The aim is to inspire participants to boldly experiment with what they can create with their own hands. In the workshops, participants use recycled materials to make new products, collaborative recycled artworks or repair old items.
Tuunaajamutsi has been operating since 2016 and has organised hundreds of craft workshops at corporate events, festivals and trade fairs, mainly in the Helsinki metropolitan area but also throughout Finland.

Less waste, more upcycling!

At the Espoo-liikkuu event, the design and creation of a community-based recycled ryijy rug in collaboration with event visitors. The ryijy is on display in the lobby of the Matinkylä swimming pool.
On the wall of the Entresse shopping centre, the textile artwork ‘Yhteiset ympyrät’ (Shared Circles), created from T-shirt strips in collaboration with shopping centre visitors, is on display.
At the Tapiola Library, on Espoo Day 2026, graphics were created using gel sheets. Over the course of two hours, 150 people took part in the printmaking session. Participants took home an art card they had made themselves, and the remaining prints will be assembled into a collective artwork for the library’s display case.
At numerous corporate events, collaborative artworks have been created to decorate offices. These have included origami mobiles, acoustic panels made from exhibition carpet, mosaics from eggshells, and works created from old crockery.
I created three pieces from recycled materials to decorate the 2025 Tuusula Night of the Arts park event.
