Elli Isokoski
Taiteen edistämisen yhdistys Myrskynsilmä ry
Helsinki, Uusimaa
My specialism is working with older people through dance, dance film and community art. I am ideally suited, for example, to the role of artist-in-residence in a care home.
I am also happy to run training sessions for those working with older people. In my ‘Movement for Life in Care Work’ courses, I encourage care staff to tap into their creativity and provide simple movement exercises that can be carried out with older people. Similarly, I can deliver training for artists who wish to work in the field of elderly care. I give lectures and share case studies on the use of dance and the arts in cultural work with older people. I have worked, amongst other things, as a dance and community artist, producer, assistant director on dance films, executive director, teacher, lecturer and expert in projects combining the social and healthcare sectors with the arts. I hold a Master’s degree in Dance, have completed specialisation studies in Participatory and Applied Arts (University of the Arts Helsinki) and have undertaken training as a birth doula (Lohtuakatemia). I hold a broad-based teaching qualification.
My working languages are Finnish and English.
I have 25 years’ professional experience with Myrskyryhmä, the organisation I founded.
